Our Winning Ways

Team Free Agent Racing scored its first win of the season at our last mountian bike race, the Chalk Creek Stampede. Expert Men 19-24 category rider Adam S. took the win by almost 7 minutes, in a race charaterized by strong headwinds and plentiful trailside cacti. Adam is doing well this season, as he also placed 4th at the Chilie Challenge several weeks ago.
Next up on the schedule for the team is the Crested Butte Fat Tire Festival. This will be the third stop for the Xc'ers and 2nd stop for the DH'ers in the Mountian States Cup regional series. I will not be attending, as I will be racing in Wyoming at the Dead Dog Stage Race (road).

Here is a sweet action picture of me from Angel Fire (Chilie Challenge). I liked it so much, I bought it.

I've got nice legs

I was kind of blown away today when I visited VAST Action Photography's (http://www.vastaction.com/) website, and found myself staring at a picture featuring my finely toned, clean-shaven legs. VAST was the photog company at the Chilie Challange mountian bike race I did several weeks ago, and they snapped some quality photos of myself, one of which you will soon see on this blog.
To see the photo, go to VAST's main page, and quickly look at the title block. The pic of my legs appears to be the first pic in their slideshow. If you miss it at first, the slideshow rotation appears to be 14 pics long, so just wait and it will come along again. I can be identified by the 721 number plate. The funny thing about the pic is that the racer that can be seen behind me is riding the exact same bike frame as me.

Wow...Has It Really Been That Long?

After being on the road for a long time (racing and working on my car at my parent's place), I finally made it home last weekend. However, I was back on the road in 12 hours, racing in the Rocky Mountain Omnium down in Golden. I've been getting back into my normal groove these last couple days and haven't posted yet, but here are some pics to whet your appetite for my future posts.

Left: Ford 5.0L HO (High Output) engine, junkyard special, ~225 hp
Right: Cyclist, ~1.3 hp

Front end of my engine off with timing chain and gears showing. Can you believe that replacing this worn out part for about $20 upped my gas mileage from about 20mpg, to about 27mpg?! It's true!
